Inside BOTS: BOT creator Freek reveals his cryptocurrency trading strategies

This is Freek

Today, we have the honour of introducing you to bot creator Freek. And guess what? He’s going to reveal his cryptocurrency trading strategies to you!

Freek is a software engineer by day and bot creator by night. Living in Eindhoven, he has created quite a few bots under the team name Rave before the Machine. “I just love coding. I love solving puzzles every day! I got involved in energy market trading and wanted to do more. That’s where I picked up on cryptocurrency trading ”.

So far, Freek has released three bots to the BOTS app:

But he’s not even close to done creating bots. “In future bots, we want to make a little more risk-taking available. We see massive movements in the cryptocurrency market. The long term trend is up, but you don’t want to take all that risk. What I aim for is to have a bot that gives 10% or 20% annual return every year — which is better than a savings account.”

But what about his trading strategies? How does the algorithm work? “When you see a certain movement in a stock or cryptocurrency, and it corresponds with profits or losses to come, it may have a predictive value. It can predict where to invest or get out of the market, as there might be trouble ahead. But still: you never know what you’re going to get. The most beautiful algorithm might not perform, and something really simple might just perform very well. Figuring out what works tomorrow, and didn’t work yesterday, is a great game!”

Freek’s view on the future of trading

Now, Freek knows what he’s talking about. But what does he think about the future of trading in general? “The future is going to involve more and more algorithmic trading. You’re always in a technology battle. It’s not a zero-sum game, but there is a sum to the game. People who have millions to invest have already had access to algorithmic trading for a while, which is an unfair advantage to small investors. The beauty of BOTS is that we can make the best algorithmic trading strategies and results available to the smaller investors.”
