BOTS Goals: Nico
Every BOTS app user has their own reasons for starting with the app. Each week from now on, we will share a user’s BOTS goals. Today it is Nico’s turn and he wants to generate a top-up to his pension by trading via the BOTS app.
Nico
“Flowers,” says Nico assuredly, “I have worked in the flower business for years. And I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.” The 56-year-old Nico has lived with his girlfriend in Gouda for the past three years. Until then, he had always lived in North Holland. His two daughters have already flown the nest.
Nico’s father had his own flower bulb nursery. “And of course I worked there too. That’s how it goes when your father has his own business.” Nico now has more than 40 years of work experience in sales. “Not only flowers, but most of my experience is in that field.”
Nico even had a flower shop and a flower wholesale business in Germany. He returned to the Netherlands because he missed his family, but the experience gave him the opportunity to work as an account manager for a large flower exporter to the German market.
“So I’ve actually spent almost 40 years in sales, trading and, of course, flowers.”
Unfortunately, COVID-19 threw a spanner in the works. Nico had just made the switch to a different employer when the flower market almost ground to a halt and his contract was not renewed for that reason. “That’s regrettable of course,” he says, “but I’m a naturally optimistic person, so I’m bound to return to flowers at some point.”
Nico and the BOTS app
This is also Nico’s outlook on trading. “Historically, the market has always risen. In fact, it’s just as optimistic as I am.”
Nico brought the same optimism to his introduction to BOTS. “I went to the first roadshow, where RevenYOU revealed the BOTS app to the world for the very first time. So I’ve really been into it for a while.”
This roadshow made a big impression on Nico. “You can use money to make money. It’s that simple. And because I really liked the concept, I first bought some share certificates.” Only after the app completed the beta phase did Nico also start trading with the BOTS app. “And I’ve already made a few hundred euros that way.”
Nico is therefore an enthusiastic user of the app and although he certainly doesn’t look at the BOTS app every day, he still looks quite regularly. “It’s nice to see how your bots are doing, of course. Saving doesn’t earn you anything these days, so I’d rather look at my returns on the BOTS app.”
Nico has already talked a number of his friends into using the app. “We even have a WhatsApp group: BOTS Talk in which we discuss our results. January was obviously not the best month, but fortunately we are all right-thinking people who understand how exchange rates can fluctuate.”
Nico’s tip to his friends is to follow everything that comes up on YouTube, read blogs, watch podcasts, watch Business Class on TV and then start a bot, sit back and watch the bots do the work.
Nico’s BOTS goals
Since Nico is both a BOTS certificate holder and user, he has two ways of making a profit. “At the end of the day, it’s about making money, of course. It’s that simple. Because I worked in Germany for a while, there’s a gap in my pension in the Netherlands. It would be nice if the returns could fill that gap. Like a kind of pension top-up.”
When Nico retires, he will have worked for about 50 years. “And then I want to be able to do fun things, of course. I now live close to the Reeuwijk Lakes and a few years ago we bought a boat. I’d like to keep doing things like that. Especially after I retire.”
Nico’s girlfriend is half Spanish. “We already visit her family in Spain once a year, but as far as I’m concerned we should go more often after I retire,” Nico laughs. “And it would be fantastic if I could take my future grandchildren with me. Roll on retirement, I say!”
